Every home visit, every drive, every gift is an encounter — with our neighbors, and with Christ in them. There's a place for you in this work, whatever time or gifts you have to offer.
"You will find that charity is a heavy burden to carry, heavier than the kettle of soup and the full basket. But you will keep your gentleness and your smile. It is not enough to give soup and bread. This the rich can do. You are the servant of the poor, always smiling and good-humored. They are your masters, terribly sensitive and exacting masters."
Vincentians visit families in their homes, listen to their struggles, and offer both practical help and a compassionate presence. This is the heart of our ministry.
Sort, organize, and prepare donated furniture and household goods at the SVdP warehouse so they're ready when a family needs them.
Help plan and run our seasonal parish drives — 40 Days for 40 Beds, Blanket Sunday, and others — from setup to promotion to collection day.
Work alongside volunteers from St. Luke and other parishes to support the two SVdP food pantry locations — 30th Street or Boulevard Place.
Reach out and a Vincentian will follow up with next steps — no commitment required to just ask questions.
